Religious ceremony

Catholic wedding ceremonies in Tuscany are performed in Catholic churches present everywhere.

Religious documents have to be prepared by the couple and be submitted to the local religious authorities in due time. Tuscany has a wide offer of gorgeous Catholic churches of different style and décor, like medieval parish churches, monumental renaissance churches, elegant baroque churches and so on.

In Italy is possible to arrange ceremonies of other religions too

Civil ceremony

The civil wedding in Italy is legally recognised abroad all over the world.

Civil ceremonies usually last about 20 minutes. They are performed by local mayor or his/her delegate who speaks Italian. An official interpreter is needed and will translate step by step all that celebrant will say.

There is a first part where civil code articles are red, then vows and the reading of the marriage deed. You will need at least two witnesses to the ceremony that could be your maid of honour, a bridesmaid a best man or even relatives or friends. At the end of the ceremony there will be the signature of the register and this will be the closing of the ceremony itself.

Your civil ceremony can be enriched and personalised with personal vows, poems, readings, music and even a blessing in some cases.

We can give you the contact  of a wedding planner who may help you with the paperworks and translation during the ceremony. In Sansepolcro there are nice rooms for the celebrations.

Symbolic ceremony

Symbolic ceremony

The symbolic or blessing wedding ceremony in Italy is becoming more and more popular every year. It allows couples complete freedom to plan their Italian wedding ceremony wherever and however they may wish based on their preferences, cultural background and values.

Best of all, no paperwork is required since the ceremony is not legally binding.

Since you are not bound by any restrictions you can choose a formal or informal atmosphere and your format can be either traditional or as creative as you!

Here we are married! What a great location!
Great view, true Tuscan country feel … Everything clean and it was a great place to celebrate our wedding and to accommodate our guests! The owners are super-friendly and no trouble was them too much … In a word amazing!

My husband and I chose Agriturismo La Conca for our destination wedding and we couldn’t be more pleased with the entire experience. Our 45 guests stayed in Cungi and Santarsa and we hosted the wedding ceremony and dinners at Cungi. The views throughout the property were breathtaking. From start to finish, Chiara was incredibly helpful and worked with us on every aspect of our event to make it a huge success. It could have been a nerve-racking planning such a big event from so far away, but Chiara’s incredible knowledge of the available vendors and her cheerful willingness to help made the experience fun rather than painful. The villas are beautifully restored with stunning views and immeasurable charm. We will look forward to visiting La Conca for years to come on anniversaries and other special events. One of the best tips we can offer: Try the wine from the local family-owned vineyard! Also be sure to stop into the shop and sample/purchase the amazing products made right on the property!

A really great place
We celebrated our wedding in Villa Cungi. What a great location! The house is immaculately tidy and clean, but by the cozy style you feel right at home! We had a very happy preparation week and a great wedding day! The owners of La Conca are really very friendly and helpful and helped us with all the preparations! Really recommended! For a holiday as well as a special occasion, it is perfect!

Villa Cungi in July 2016 was the most beautiful place to marry the most wonderful woman. We enjoyed a grand week with the best wedding guests ever. Many thanks to the hosts Serenella & Chiara

This place is UNREAL!
We spend 5 days with more than 30 people family during our wedding in Villa Cungi. The view is INCREDIBLE. Sunsets are STUNNING. But what is the most important, every room is decorated in the same, simple but classy style. There is as many original elements of the old farm house style as possible what make the experience so outstanding! Rooms are perfectly clean with fresh towels and bed covers. The area is clean and have no random decorations what make the Villa perfect for special occasions. Main kitchen is perfectly equiped with every what you need for big groups. This place is absolutely fantastic in every detail. But what is the most important and amazing is the soul of this place… Chiara and her family made this place that you feel like in home. Chiara is so helpful with everything, answer every simple question with absolutely beautiful smile and solve every problem in 5 minutes! That made us feel so safe and happy in this place. I don’t know how to say in words how wonderful our expierience was, but I think the best thing I can say is we will be coming back here every possible time! We already miss Chiara and Villa Cungi… so much…

Perfect place to get married (or any other excuse to get together with a large group)
We hired Villa Cungi for our recent wedding as it offered not only the perfect place to accommodate all our guests (33 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 child and 2 babies), but also hold the wedding party on its beautiful terrace with amazing views.
The planning: Before we arrived
We visited in October 2016 just to make sure that Villa Cungi really was as amazing as it looked on the web… It was everything we hoped for and so much more and immediately we felt completely at ease with Chiara and her family who were there to make sure they could do everything possible help us. All we needed to do was plan the big day!
Now let’s be honest, arranging a wedding can be pretty stressful, arranging one in a county where you don’t speak the language and add to that accommodating 35 people is quite a challenge.
Chiara was there to support us from the outset. We were given superb recommendations of all suppliers from a wedding coordinator (to help with us the legal bits) to catering for the wedding breakfast, cake, taxis, music, etc.
The floor plans Chiara provided me with meant that fitting all our guests into the villa was made possible and Chiara was even able to provide baby cots and extra beds and linen.
My bombardment of constant emails were returned promptly and with all the information I needed to make me feel comfortable.

The build up: Our arrival 28th June 2017
Once again we received a really warm welcome from Chiara when we arrived. Although we’d only met on our brief visit last October, we were welcomed with hugs and kisses and it’s obvious that she gets much joy from having couples like us choose to celebrate the biggest day of our lives in her family’s Villa.
We were given the guided tour again. Every room was clean, tidy and ready for our guests to arrive. I gave Chiara my floor plans in case guests arrived and we weren’t there to welcome them and she was happy for me to give her mobile number as a direct contact.
As soon as our guests arrived, their first comment was always ‘What fantastic views. Wow, look at the pool. This is amazing. This is perfect.’
The well equipped kitchen made communal cooking easy and our Pizza night (using the Pizza oven) was the most fun I’ve had cooking in years. Obviously the industrial dishwasher was a massive bonus! I was also able to allocate families with small children to the apartments within the villa so that they could cook for themselves if needed and have their own space. This worked out perfectly for everyone.
The day before the wedding it rained and rained, but the huge dining hall offered a space large enough for everyone to hang out. It would have been a great Plan B has the weather not chirped up for our wedding day.

The big day: 1st July 2017
We were given everything we needed to prepare the area for the wedding so it was to our exact requirements. Ladders so we could put up lights, paint so we could make signs, Rosemary from Chiara’s garden for additional table decorations. Chiara even printed out all my various lists, timetables (and even vows).
Nothing was too much trouble. We were given access to a storage area so we could remove tables and chairs not being used for the wedding from view. Chiara’s mum was even kind enough to let us use her industrial steam iron for all the groomsmen’s shirts and bridesmaids dresses.

The days following the big day
The day after the wedding we were so lucky to be able to celebrate our best man’s 40th birthday. This was obviously celebrated with a pool party and later a BBQ on the terrace.
All our guests had a wonderful time. Some used it as a base to do day trips including Siena, Florence, Rimini, Arezzo and Anghiari. Some used it as a place to relax and chill out. Some went walking on the wonderful grounds and used the local fishing lake. The villa really did offer ‘something for everyone’.

Other things to mention
The Villa really does have everything you need including washing machine, pool towels for hire, pans big enough to cook pasta for 37!
The bins were emptied regularly (which was a blessing we got through quite a few bottles of wine and beer) and the pool was cleaned daily and gravel paths tidied.
Sansepolcro itself is a wonderful little town. It has lots of local amenities and shops. There are a number of lovely bars and restaurants and its well worth a visit on a weekend evening when everything seems to come alive.

We had an amazing time and since returning everyone is already talking about panning a reunion and visiting this wonderful place again. There is something very special about the Villa. It offers a place of calm, tranquillity, peace at the same time as offering community and fun and laughter. It will always hold a piece of my heart.

Just loved this place
We spent our week in villa Cantone as a group of family and friends (aged infant to 50s) for a stylish but chilled out wedding. Sansepolcro itself was really interesting and perfect for our tastes and requirements.

The well thought out design of the villa allowed us to share very many happy and memorable moments as an integrated party whilst enabling us to take “quiet time” or just adult or child-time when we felt like it. The spa was lovely, the pool fantastic and the scenery (backdrop to many photos) outstanding. The house was very clean and the kitchen generally well, if economically, equipped though we never really got to grips with the dishwasher and we needed to hire conventional wine/champagne glasses for the wedding reception meal itself (see my review of Ottimi Vini). We loved the wood-burning oven and took full advantage of it for the wedding meal (slow-cooked suckling pig) and fresh pizzas, bread baked from dough, jacket potatoes etc for the rest of our week. We also used the barbecue occasionally.

We did have plans to enjoy the wedding meal itself on the patio but a combination of rain and puzzlement as to how to dealwith the large stone pillars which visibly fragmented the external dinIng area (and disrupted conversational flow) in larger parties meant that we decorated the beautiful rustic dining room for the wedding meal instead: we were very pleased with the result. We’d love to go back and may well do so; very highly recommend for larger parties who want to share a mutual celebration or just a relaxing experience.

We spent a week at the villa cungi for our Tuscan wedding with a group of close family and friends (26 total). This property is a beautiful place up in the Tuscan hills, but also with such close proximity to Sansepolcro to be able to explore Italian history and meet all your other needs such as purchase food, drinks, etc. The photos and descriptions of the rooms and common space are very accurate. We were comfortable with the number of guests we had (10 couples, 6 singles who shared – all adults) but you could easily fit at least 2 more and not feel cramped. The villa offers a long list of services, activities and catering options that are well worth the price! Chiara was so prompt to help answer my numerous questions, made calls for us before and during our stay, and investigated options to make things easier for our stay. Thank you so much! We had the chef come to make pizza one afternoon, he catered our wedding dinner and taught us how to make some antipasti and fresh pasta followed by lunch to eat what we had made. Him and his crew are professional, fun, happy to answer questions and made the stay that much better! He made the BEST lasagna I have ever eaten for our wedding primi course! It was not even a second thought when we asked them to accommodate some vegetarian and gluten free menu requirements for our guests. The meals were all plated and the amount of food the chef brought each time was more than we expected and again just so delicious! Only one issue really comes to mind, not that it was a big concern. Some of our guests who needed WiFi to stay in contact with home had some issues with reception. The WiFi only reached a few rooms reliably and some small parts of the common areas. Chiara and her family were wonderful to work with, so welcoming and we would all love to go back in the future!
